Dean is a results oriented executive who has led multiple game-changing company's with products and services including online communities, web-based data collection (CEO of Greenfield Online - IPO 2004), Enterprise Feedback Management (EFM), software-as-a-service (SaaS) (CEO of Vovici). He has been driving revenue growth and strong returns for investors for start-ups, turnarounds, pre-IPO businesses and public companies for over 25 years.
Dean is credited worldwide with creating and defining both the mobile relationship marketing and online community markets. His tenure as CEO and President of Greenfield Online/Ciao from 2001 to 2005 marked the establishment of the world's largest interrelationship of global online consumer communities and as Founder of Thumbspeak in 2009 he established the first and the leading do-it-yourself (DIY) Mobile Relationship Marketing platform.
Dean led the turnaround of Greenfield Online a struggling marketing research business, changed the business model to an internet data collection business which led to an IPO in 2004 and the acquisitions of goZing and Ciao in 2005.
In January of 2011, Thumbspeak LLC was acquired by Cint AB.
Throughout his career, Dean has applied the same skill set to companies at various stages of development – identifying an untapped market, building a world-class team, and devising/executing a clear strategic plan. In 2005, he was nominated for Ernst & Young’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ award and Research Magazine’s ‘Marketing Industry CEO of the Year’ honor. In 2002 he appeared on the cover of Media Magazine.

Identified emerging market in feedback management and partnered with VC firm (Austin Ventures) to acquire and integrate two companies into one entity which was re-branded as Vovici. Led team of 100+ and held full P&L accountability for $20 million business. Reported to Board of Directors and played a key role in financing efforts, raising investment dollars including private investments and bank debt financing.
Grew SaaS revenues over 70% every year, increased average sale by 329% and established company as industry leader, doubling the value of the business in just 2 years. The company was acquired by Verint (Nasdaq:VRNT) July 2011.
